1. This website

This website sets no cookies and uses no local storage. Light or dark mode follows your device, and the language follows the address or your browser’s language.

We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and gives us anonymous, aggregated figures (pages viewed, country, device type). Our host keeps standard server logs for security.

2. What the app collects

Account details: your name, email address, account type and language, and for businesses their details and verification documents.

What you add: profile details, certifications and card photos, documents and expiry dates, availability, bookings, jobs, messages and photos.

Activity: when you log in or out, update your profile or settings, search, send a message or take similar actions, we record the time, IP address, approximate location, browser and device, language and whether you use the installed app. We don’t record the pages you browse.

3. Why we use it

To provide Divelance under our terms with you; to keep accounts safe and investigate abuse (our legitimate interest); to verify businesses; and to meet legal duties, for example for payments and tax.

We don’t sell personal data and don’t use it for advertising.

4. Who sees it

Other users see what the app shows them under your settings: for example, only verified businesses on a paid plan, your friends and the people you talk to see a diver’s name, photos and bio.

Service providers process data for us under contract: hosting, database, file storage, email delivery and, once payments start, our payment provider. Verification documents may be read by automated checks.

5. Where and how long

Data is stored in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).

Activity details are shortened or removed after 90 days: IP addresses are shortened and browser details removed. Verification ID photos are deleted 30 days after our decision. The rest is kept while your account is open.

6. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict its use, and complain to your data protection authority.

Most details can be changed in the app. In Account › Security you can download a copy of your data and delete your account yourself; past chats, bookings and ratings then stay for the other people in them, shown as “Deleted account”. For anything else, use the contact form and choose “My account”.
